I’ve been using BMR for a while now (about 2 months) and I must say that it has been quite impressive. Its not cheap but the fact that you can focus on only a few domains and really get some decent links into them is quite a good thing.

Ok guys, firstly, I want to appolige for posting such a late update….I’m not sure how many people are actually going to be reading this anymore…lol.

You probably all thought I disappeared or something, well I was still here in the background but it was just laziness that got the better of me.

Amongst all this chaos, I thought I’d take a bit of a break from everything.  I went on holiday for 2 weeks to ermmmm, well lets just say a ‘different’ environment than I’m used to with no internet access, no laptop, not even clean drinking water so yea it was a little difficult to say the least.

Anyway, while I was out there, I wanted to make sure that all my sites were taking care of themselves since I would have NO access to anything.  Guess what happened 24 hours I went away? Yup, you guessed it, according to ‘Sods Law’ all 3 of my hosting companies over a period of a few days had issues which in turn meant that pretty much all my sites were suspended.  That was about 70 odd sites, including this site as well!

So finally after waiting since April 2010, Google decided to update it’s toolbar with a ‘fresher’ version of PageRank.  What a coincidence on the day the Larry Page becomes the new CEO of Google.  From looking at my personal sites, it seems as though sites that were gaining more ‘natural’ looking links tended to do well.  A lot of my sites either stayed the same or dropped.  I had a few surprises with some going up to PR1.

Quick update, I finished my article of 1,800 words…wow.  Thankfully though its a topic I can write about quite fluently so its all good.  The article was already about 400 words but I just added new sub headings and organised keywords into the right places and slotted some LSI terms.

I think I have learn many mistakes as well as many positive things in the last 18 months.  Its now time to ‘notch’ up a gear and really make things happen. Just an overview on the areas I will be concentrating on;

Authority Site Building – 800lb Gorillas

I’ve been working on an authority site for the last few weeks on a project that Ive had since Decemeber 2008.  My aim is to build this up to become a powerful site that can make money on its own. Initially the target is a very modest £3-5 per day and then onto double figures within a matter of months.  It can average anywhere from between a few pennies to several ££££s per day but it is inconsistent.   I will be making a separate post on this project shortly.

Thin Sites – Casting out the net to catch the fishes

I have a shedload of domain names that I purchased prior to my XFactor niche site building endeavours.  In addition to  big authority sites, I want to still test the waters and see if the domains are worthwhile developing.  Some of my time will be dedicated to creating 1 page sites with about 1,500+ words.

Hi All,

Just wanted to say Happy New Year to everyone and wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been reading my journey.

Lets make 2011 our most successful and best year.

To your sucess!

Zaheer!

If you’re in the AdSense publishing business and have been developing your sites from a cave, you’ll have heard of John XFactor.  A few days ago I received an email from him letting me know that his ‘NEW’ course was available for download.

authority adsense guide john xfactor

Becuase this is a completely new course, John has written this from scratch.  The purpose of this eBook is to focus on building bigger more authority sites while managing as little domain names as possible.

John has had a bit of a tough time being called all sorts but I’ve always admired the way he has helped others.  In fact he inspired me to develop my AdSense sites (and I’ve been on the AdSense scene for a looooong time pretty much on and off). It took 18 months of waiting but I was sure as hell going to buy it!

There are a few pricing systems for this, if you are not on his existing system then you have to pay the discounted price of $77 from $97.  If you are a member of his previous course whose name is on the system then you get this for a bargain of $39.99.

All orders are approved manually so it could take a few hours before you get the URL.  Fortunately enough, I got in there early and it only took 2 hours.  I recevied it at 11pm.

So? What can I expect from the course?

This post is going to be more of a rant than something educational.

I’m always on the lookout for an article writers who can develop exceptional copy.  Anyway, on Monday just gone I thought I’d found someone who sounded pretty good.  She charged decent rates per article and I thought I’d take a punt.  I’ve already got a team of writers who I’ve been using for almost a ayear now but recently I havent been too happy with what they’ve been churning out, more filler content and waffle than ‘meat’.

From my previous posts, you’ll all by now know how badly Mayday hit me.  It was like being punched in the face by Mike Tyson consistently for 12 rounds.  Fortunately, I’m made of much sterner stuff and won’t be knocked down!

I’ve now decided that it’s time to consolidate the number of sites that Im working on.  I havent counted but I know I have about 50 or so sites that I’m working on which have some kind of content.  I own about 300 domains but most of these I just havent got time to build.

So, yesterday I went through the whole list and consolidated this down to 25 sites that I will build into authority sites.  The aim is to develop each site into 50 x 500 articles of quality and useful content and take it from there.  Most sites have between 5-20 pages so just need to up-scale this evenly.  Over the next few days I’ll be creating some article briefs and sending these out to my writers.  With each article brief also comes an article with 3 rewrites for UAW so backlinks can trickle in.

Once these come back then each website article will contain 2 relevant images and a video from YouTube as well as an internal link to relevant pages (if the content uses relevant terms).  This will then be drip-fed out at a rate of 1 article per week. Since they are hosted on a WordPress platform, this task can be automated.

Now lets see what happens!

Maybe once these are all up and running it may be time to use backlink Phillipines as Sara has been mentioning! Hmmmmm

Thoughts????

One of the factors to rank well as we all know is backlinks.  There are many schools of thoughts as to the types of backlinks that are most effective, the speed at which one must acquire these and also the quality.

So, when I came across Don and Jeremy’s website makebacklinks.com I was willing to give it a try.  Not only are they reputable Warriors, the price was a steal at only $35 for 2,000 profile links….hmmmmmm!

What I want to test here are a few theories;

Does a huge amount of backlinks affect your rankings? Positively as well as negatively?

Can you rank with ONLY profile links?

The understanding is that they use Xrumer to create the links (heard this from the grapevine).

I will be using a .org.uk domain which has 1 500 word article on a standard WordPress installation.  Nothing fancy.  To track the rankings I will be using SEO Elite since I’ve been using this program for about 2 years. The site is in a finance/insurance niche which is quite competitive, there is NO AdSense or any advertising since I don’t want to jeopardise my accounts!  It is an exact match domain with a 4 keyword tail.

Anyway, I went ahead and purchased the links on the 8th September 2010.  The order was eventually completed on the 24th September 2010 and an email with a zip file with 2,692 profile links had been created.  Ok so far so good

Below I will track the number of inbound links showing up in Yahoo Site Explorer and where it ranks:

Don’t forget to keep checking back as I will keep this page updated regularly

14th Oct 2010 Backlinks in YSE = 46 Google Ranking = not in top 1,000

I’d thought I’d give it a few months to see how the site was doing.  Just as I thought, not doing much.

18th January 2011 Backlinks in YSE = 11 Google Ranking = not in top 1,000

My conclusion to these types of services is that they are a waste of money.  Although they seem cheap, they don’t offer you much other than a Xrumer/Scrapebox blast with very low quality links, often, most of these sites have been spammed to hell.  I’m sure the guys behind it are gentlemen but for me this service didn’t work.  If I had to spend these $35 again, I’d hire someone on oDesk to build me manual links at about $2 per hour, much more value for money.
